Andy Murray has revealed that he has been listening to advice from Sir Alex Ferguson recently as he prepares to get his Wimbledon campaign underway.
The British number one heads into the tournament on the back of three wins in his last four events, and he claims that conversations with the former Manchester United boss have given him tips on how to enjoy success over a long period.
"I have met him a few times and he is a great, great person to talk to," Murray told The Mirror. "He has given me quite a bit of advice – especially on the mental side – on how to prepare for a big match.
"It is always great to meet people who have experienced so many things and have the passion to share it.
"He spoke to me a lot about the consistency of his club and how to maintain it over the years. That is something that was amazing with what he did over such a long period."
Murray takes on Mikhail Kukushkin on Tuesday.
