Rafael Nadal pleased with opening win at Wimbledon

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal reveals his pleasure at securing progress into the second round of Wimbledon after defeating Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci.

Number 10 seed Rafael Nadal has revealed his pleasure after winning his opening match at Wimbledon against Thomaz Bellucci this afternoon.

The Spaniard earned progress into the second round with relative ease after notching a 6-4 6-2 6-4 victory under the gruelling sun in South London.

"In Australia [the weather] can be worse," said Nadal, according to BBC Sport.

"It's actually beautiful. When you have this weather in Wimbledon, it's probably one of the best places in the world.

"It was a very positive victory. Straight sets, no bad feelings, good backhands. The forehand needs to be a bit more aggressive."

Nadal was knocked out in the fourth round last year having lost to teenager Nick Kyrgios.
