Andy Murray overcomes an early wobble to beat Ivo Karlovic on centre court at Wimbledon for a place in the third round.

Andy Murray has kept his Wimbledon hopes alive by beating Ivo Karlovic 7-5 6-7[5] 6-2 7-6[4] to book a place in the third round.

The British number one faced a tough contest in the early stages of the match, with Karlovic eager to enforce his game on the 25-year-old, who has yet to win a Grand Slam.

The first set continued to go by the way of serve until Murray snatched a crucial break, which allowed the Scotsman to push on and take a one-set lead.

Murray's Croatian opponent failed to give in on the centre court and didn't let his one-set deficit affect him as he forced the second to a tie-break, which Karlovic managed to capitalise on and equal the match.

Following a slight wobble, Murray composed himself and executed a host of powerful and precise forehand shots and slices across the court to gain the advantage and storm through the third set, taking the lead once again.

Karlovic came back strong in the fourth set by holding his serve well and preventing Murray from taking an advantage in the contest, but despite his power, the Scotsman used his experience to grab the lead and claim a spot in the third round.
