Jack Wilshere: 'Victory isn't vital'

rsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere admits that a 0-0 first-leg result with Bayern Munich tomorrow would not be a bad one.

Jack Wilshere does not believe that Arsenal's hopes of knocking Bayern Munich out of the Champions League hinges on a first-leg victory at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow.

The reigning champions dumped the Gunners out of the competition last year on away goals, taking a 3-1 aggregate lead before losing the second leg 2-0 at the Allianz Arena.

"We've spoken about the importance of staying in the game," he told reporters. "If it's 0-0 at home we've still got a big chance to qualify. The away goal is massive in this competition."

Tomorrow's first leg of the last-16 stage kicks off at 7.45pm.
