Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has insisted that he won't regard his career as a failure even if he does not win a league title.
The Germany international was part of Joachim Low's victorious squad at the World Cup in Brazil, and has also won cup competitions for Werder Bremen and the Gunners.
However, the 30-year-old has yet to be part of a side that has won a league championship, and he has admitted that it will not bother him if he finishes his career without a title success.
Mertesacker is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "If I look back on my career without having won a league title, I won't see that as a failure.
"I'll do my absolute best to make sure that I can prepare for that eventuality."
Mertesacker is part of the Arsenal squad that will face Swansea City in their Premier League clash later today.
