Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta opens the door to returning to Paris Saint-Germain as a manager later on in his career.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has hinted that he would like to return to Paris Saint-Germain as manager one day.

The 38-year-old has endured mixed fortunes since taking the hotseat at the Emirates - winning the FA Cup and Community Shield but failing to sustain a top-four challenge in the Premier League.

Arteta spent one full season with PSG in the 2001-02 campaign on loan from Barcelona - making 25 appearances in that Ligue 1 season - and he has refused to rule out a return to the French capital.

Speaking to beIN Sports, the Arsenal manager said: "I love Paris, I love Paris. I have very good memories from over there.

"It was my first club as a professional. The club is always in my heart. You never know but I have a lot of work to do [at Arsenal].

"PSG have an incredible team. The manager Mauricio Pochettino is a coach that I am close to because I played with him at PSG. He is a very very strong manager and I hope that he will win a lot of titles with PSG."

Arteta has won 40 of his 73 matches in charge of the Gunners, and his side currently occupy ninth spot in the Premier League table - nine points adrift of the top four.
