Arsene Wenger backs Jack Wilshere to become Arsenal manager one day

Arsene Wenger backs Jack Wilshere to one day become Arsenal manager.

Arsene Wenger has backed Jack Wilshere to become Arsenal manager in the future.

The midfielder, who made his senior debut for the Gunners in 2008, has struggled to cement a regular spot in Wenger's team due to a string of injury problems in the last few years.

The 24-year-old will spend this season on loan at Bournemouth, but Wenger has claimed that not only does Wilshere have a future in the team, he will one day take the managerial job.

"Certainly one day he will be in my seat," The Mirror quotes Wenger as saying. "He has a real football brain and understands football. You know really, it's in his genes.

"I see him in the future at this club of course. He will spend his life in football, he is a football man. He has an eye on everybody, it's in him. You have that or you haven't got it, but he is a real football man."

Wilshere joined Arsenal's academy from Luton Town in 2001.
