Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the Premier League fixture with Arsenal on April 4.

Fallen champions Liverpool return to action on Saturday night with a Premier League trip to Arsenal.

The Reds have had a welcome three-week break since their most recent outing - a 1-0 win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That victory moved Jurgen Klopp's men up to seventh in the table, five points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place.

After a lengthy hiatus for his side, Klopp will be hoping that a number of players have recovered from injury in time for this clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest in the capital.

Skipper Jordan Henderson injured his groin in the Merseyside derby defeat to Everton last month and had to undergo surgery. England boss Gareth Southgate indicated last week that the midfielder is in a race against time to play again this season.

Joel Matip is one of three centre-backs to have been ruled out for the long term after injuring his ankle at the end of January. The ex-Cameroon international will not play any further part for Liverpool this season.

Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez sustained a serious knee injury while away with England in November and has not played since. The centre-back underwent surgery that will likely keep him out until at least the summer.

Liverpool have been without influential centre-back Virgil van Dijk since October due to a serious knee injury. Like his other defensive teammates, the Dutchman will not feature again for the Reds in 2020-21, despite returning to individual training.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been absent from the bench for recent matches because of an abdominal issue. Klopp revealed last week that the youngster is due back in training ahead of the Arsenal match.
