Chelsea's encouraging start to the season with what now feels like a settled squad under Enzo Maresca has put a positive spin on recent developments at Stamford Bridge.

However, to reach a position where the West Londoners now appear to be on an upward trajectory, their recruitment team has had to combine the wide array of incomings with a whole host of departures.

Whether it be senior or academy players, as many as 21 unwanted squad members were sold during the summer, but a further 20 players were also found new homes on a temporary basis.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how those players in question have fared out on loan, whether that be in England, Europe or elsewhere.

Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei has provided a further update on his future plans at Stamford Bridge.

Having initially been exiled from the first-team ranks soon after Enzo Maresca's arrival, it appeared highly likely that the Italy Under-21 international would leave before the end of the summer transfer window.

With Chelsea needing to bolster their position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations, a permanent or temporary exit were on the table.

However, the 21-year-old ultimately remained with the West Londoners and has subsequently been reintegrated back into the senior squad by his compatriot Maresca.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly plotting to make an approach for an Aston Villa midfielder in one of the next two transfer windows.

The two North London rivals have endured contrasting starts in the Premier League as they each look to post challenges for the title.

While Arsenal are unbeaten and have accumulated 17 points from seven matches, Spurs have already lost three times and trail their neighbours by seven points.

Ironically, it was the latter who conducted the most business in the engine room during the summer with Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall completing moves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Manchester United are reportedly contemplating whether to enter the race for a former Chelsea star.

Erik ten Hag was given licence to add to his first-team squad during the summer transfer window, strengthening in defence, central midfield and in the final third.

However, that has not prevented United from putting together their worst Premier League start in history, accumulating just six points from their seven games.

On a positive note, United have kept four clean sheets - against Fulham, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa respectively - but they boast one of the top-flight's worst attacks.
