The father and agent of Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has admitted that 'it would be best' for the central defender to leave the Emirates Stadium before the European transfer window closes.
Mustafi has been told that he is not in the plans of Gunners boss Unai Emery this season, with the Germany international largely struggling since arriving from Valencia in 2016.
Kujtim Mustafi has conceded that an exit over the next couple of weeks would be the best outcome for both parties.
"Shkodran had a great time with Arsenal," Kujtim Mustafi told Sky in Germany. "However the best for both sides is probably to work on a transfer. But for that, it also needs market-driven transfer fees."
Roma have recently been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, although it is understood that the Italian side are only interested in a loan arrangement.
Mustafi has made 112 appearances for his current club over the last three seasons.
