Arsenal are reportedly contemplating whether to make an approach for Marseille defender Jordan Amavi, who is currently free to speak with interested clubs.

Arsenal have reportedly identified Marseille defender Jordan Amavi as a potential transfer target.

While Kieran Tierney is the established first choice at left-back, Mikel Arteta is short of competition for the Scotland international due to the January departures of Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

Aware that funds may be needed for other areas of the pitch, Le 10 Sport claims that Mikel Arteta holds an interest in possible free agent Amavi.

The former Aston Villa player currently has less than three months remaining on his contract at Marseille, putting him in a position where he can hold talks with any interested clubs.

AC Milan are also said to be monitoring the situation at a time when Marseille hope that the 27-year-old will agree to stay in the South of France.

Amavi has made made 17 appearances in all competitions this season, including five during the Champions League group stages.
