Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur emerge as rivals for the signature of Eintracht Frankfurt star Sebastian Rode, reports suggest.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly lock horns for the signature of German midfielder Sebastian Rode.

The 22-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt star has started in all of his team's matches this season, playing a key role in their rise to fourth in the Bundesliga.

Interest is thought to be high in the German Under-21 international, with Bayern Munich believed to be rivalling the North London duo.

Rode has 18 months remaining on his current deal at the Commerzban-Arena, but said that any negotiations regarding an extension have been put on hold.

"The interest is known to me," the Daily Star quotes Rode as saying. "I'll keep my feet on the ground and not start dreaming.

"Eintracht Frankfurt and I have agreed to postpone the talks so I can concentrate on my football."

Rode joined Frankfurt from Kickers Offenbach in 2010
