Arsenal are reportedly finding it difficult to generate interest in Mesut Ozil due to the attacker's wage packet.
The German was not involved in Arsenal's Premier League clash against Manchester United on Monday night, and it is thought that the Gunners will attempt to loan him out at the start of 2020.
According to the Daily Mail, though, Unai Emery's side are fearful that they will be unable to offload their highest earner, who collects in the region of £350,000 a week at the Emirates Stadium.
The report claims that the Premier League club would be prepared to pay towards a loan exit in the January transfer window, although Ozil could decide to sit on his huge wages in the English capital despite a lack of football.
Barcelona have been linked with a potential approach for the 30-year-old, although it remains to be seen whether a concrete offer from the Spanish champions arrives in the new year.
Ozil has made 233 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Real Madrid in 2013 but has featured in just one Premier League match at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.
