Newcastle United are reportedly set to rekindle their interest in Arsenal number two Bernd Leno.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man was linked with a move to St James' Park during the January transfer window after losing his place in Mikel Arteta's lineup to Aaron Ramsdale.
However, the deadline passed with Leno still on the books at the Emirates Stadium, but the German goalkeeper now has less than 18 months left to run on his deal with the North London club.
Leno is expected to leave in the summer when Arsenal welcome American goalkeeper Matt Turner to the club, and journalist Keith Downie claims that the 29-year-old could be a target for the Magpies in the summer.
"I could foreseeably see them, if they stay up, looking to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer and changing things up in the goalkeeping department," Downie told GIVEMESPORT.
"I think Bernd Leno is someone they would be interested in given his experience in the Premier League already."
Leno has only made seven appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season and has registered a total of 36 clean sheets in 124 games for the Gunners since arriving in 2018.
