Thomas Vermaelen unsure of Arsenal future

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen admits that he is unclear whether he will stay at the club beyond the summer.

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has admitted that he does not know whether he will stay at the club beyond the summer.

The Belgian international, 28, has been heavily linked with a move away from the Gunners after falling out of favour at the Emirates Stadium this season.

However, Vermaelen insists that he is unclear what his transfer situation is.

"There has been a lot of speculation, but I can't talk about it because I don't know what is going on," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com.

"My focus is at Arsenal at the moment. There is still a lot to play for - I can't do anything about rumours."

Vermaelen joined Arsenal from Ajax in 2009.
