Tim Sherwood: 'Result is disappointing'

Boss Tim Sherwood laments Aston Villa's performance as they lose out to Crystal Palace 2-1 this afternoon.

Tim Sherwood has revealed that he is disappointed with his Aston Villa team as they conceded a late goal to lose away at Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Bakary Sako scored late on to see off Villa, who had equalised through a Pape Souare own goal, to a 2-1 defeat.

"To lose it so late was disappointing," Sherwood told BBC Sport. I thought we were very good in the first half. We scored the goal and came back into it. To lose it so late is disappointing.

"We saw a young player with no fear like Adama Traore. On the flip side you have young players that make mistakes and Jordan Amavi, hasn't made many but he did today and has to learn from it."

Villa's next Premier League fixture will be at home to Sunderland on August 29.
