Diego Simeone admits Diego Godin is a doubt

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone admits that Diego Godin could miss tonight's Champions League clash with Porto.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has admitted that Diego Godin is a doubt for tonight's Champions League clash with Porto in Portugal.

The 27-year-old made the trip with the rest of his teammates on Monday despite picking up a knee injury in Saturday's 1-0 win over Real Madrid in La Liga.

However, Simeone has conceded that Godin "is a doubt" as Atletico look to move onto six points in Group G.

"He'll have a little run around and we'll see. He is a doubt, so we'll wait to see how he progresses and we'll decide if he is fit to play or not," Simeone told AS.

Should the experienced centre-back fail to recover, summer signing Toby Alderweireld is expected to make his debut for the Spanish outfit.
