Preview: Villarreal vs. Atletico Madrid

Sports Mole previews Sunday's La Liga meeting between Villarreal and Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid will be looking to continue their impressive run of form when they travel to Villarreal on Sunday.

Diego Simeone's side have won five of their last six matches, which has kept them one point adrift of La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Villarreal have won three of their last six games, including their narrow victory over Elche on Monday evening.

Atletico come into the match off the back of their 4-0 victory over Austria Vienna in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Villarreal forward Giovani dos Santos will miss the match after being ruled out for two weeks with a thigh injury, so Jonathan Pereira is lined up to deputise.

David Villa is expected to return to the Atletico side after being benched for the match against Vienna, while Mario Suarez and Arda Turan will miss out as they continue to recover from injuries.
