Atletico Madrid are reportedly "seriously interested" in bringing Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash to the club this summer.
The La Liga champions recently waved goodbye to Kieran Trippier following his switch to Newcastle United, while the ever-versatile Marcos Llorente continues to struggle with injuries.
Cash has cemented himself as a vital player for Villa this term - scoring once in 21 Premier League appearances - and the Poland international's performances have not gone unnoticed.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atletico hold a serious interest in Cash and will prioritise a move for the 24-year-old after making contact with his entourage in January.
However, Cash is not thought to be in any rush to leave Aston Villa following the arrival of Steven Gerrard, even with Calum Chambers coming in to compete for the right-back spot.
The former Nottingham Forest man boasts one goal and three assists in 51 games for Villa since arriving in 2020 and is under contract with the Lions until 2025.
