Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has insisted that Brazilian defender Douglas has a future at Camp Nou.
The right-back joined the Catalan outfit from Sao Paulo in the summer, but has struggled to work his way into the first XI.
It had been suggested that Enrique could dump the 24-year-old in January, but such claims have been quelled by the Spaniard.
"Douglas comes from another continent. He's an interesting player and needs to do the same things he did at Sao Paulo," Enrique told reporters.
"However, we know he has what it takes to do just that. We only place importance in beating our next opponents, nothing more."
Douglas signed a five-year deal with Barca in August.
