Barcelona 'readying new deals for Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta'

Barcelona will reportedly begin talks with Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta over new contracts, with both players into the final two years of their current deals.

Barcelona are hopeful of tying Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta down to new contracts at Camp Nou, according to a report.

The Catalan giants have already reached an agreement with Neymar over extending the Brazilian international's stay this week, bringing an end to weeks of speculation.

It is claimed by The Sun that Messi and Iniesta could be next in putting pen to paper on fresh terms, with the key duo due to see their current deals come to an end in 2018.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu recently revealed that talks were set to begin with a number of players reaching the latter stages of their contracts - a list that is apparently topped by club legends Iniesta and Messi.

Barcelona are said to face competition to keep hold of Thiago, though, as former boss Pep Guardiola - now in charge at Manchester City - is expected to make a bid for the midfielder in the coming weeks.
