French goalkeeper Mickael Landreau announces that he will retire at the end of the coming season.

Bastia goalkeeper Mickael Landreau has announced that he will retire from football at the end of the 2013-14 season.

The former Nantes, Paris Saint-Germain and Lille goalkeeper has targeted Jean-Luc Ettori's record of 602 Ligue 1 matches, having already played 587.

"I've decided to retire at the end of what will now be a very, very important season for me," he told Ligue1.com.

"If everything goes according to plan, I will break the record during another fairly special match: the Corsican derby against Ajaccio in Week 16 in December."

Landreau's last game for Bastia would be against the team he faced on his debut, Nantes.
