Bayer Leverkusen have announced that they have extended Karim Bellarabi's contract until June 2017.
The attacking midfielder has been one of the Werkself's most prominent players so far this term, scoring eight times in the league and making his international debut for Germany during the autumn.
Bellarabi's existing deal was due to run out at the end of the season, but Bayer decided to activate an option in 24-year-old's contract to keep him at the BayArena for a further two years.
The midfielder spent last season on loan at former club Eintracht Braunschweig before returning to Leverkusen.
Bayer are third in the Bundesliga table, 17 points behind runaway leaders Bayern Munich.
