Giovane Elber: 'Bayern Munich are better under Pep Guardiola'

Former Bayern Munich striker Giovane Elber defends Pep Guardiola, saying that the Spaniard has made them a better team to the one that Jupp Heynckes moulded last term.

Former Bayern Munich striker Giovane Elber has said that the Bavarians have become an even better team under Pep Guardiola this season than they were with Jupp Heynckes last term.

Guardiola received some criticism after they were thrashed 4-0 by Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champion's League semi-final, but Elber insists that the Spaniard has made them a better team.

"Bayern's football this season has been great. It's clear the team has got even better under Guardiola," Elber told the club's official website.

"Unfortunately, they were knocked out by Real Madrid but you can't win the Champions League every year.

"It's phenomenal what Bayern have achieved on the pitch this season."

Bayern play Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
