Xherdan Shaqiri reveals disappointment at snub

Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri reveals his disappointment at being named on the substitute's bench for his side's opening Bundesliga win over Wolfsburg.

Bayern Munich midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has said that he was disappointed to be named on the substitute's bench for his side's opening Bundesliga win against Wolfsburg on Friday.

The 22-year-old only came on for the final 29 minutes of the game despite starting in Bayern's Supercup loss to Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.

He told Blick: "The coach [Pep Guardiola] has decided it so you have to accept it.

"I have to deal with it and try to impose myself [on the team]. Clearly you're disappointed if you are not in the starting line-up."

The Switzerland international only started ten league games for Bayern last season and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena.
