Arjen Robben: 'Referees punishing me for World Cup dive'

Arjen Robben feels aggrieved that he was not awarded a penalty during Bayern Munich's 2-0 victory over Koln, suggesting that he is being punished for previous dives.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben believes that he in being 'punished' for his high-profile dive during the World Cup.

The Netherlands international apologised following his side's victory over Mexico during the showpiece tournament, admitting that he went to ground too easily during the round-of-16 clash.

However, Robben has seen a string of penalty decisions go against him in recent weeks for club side Bayern, including in the 2-0 victory over Koln on Saturday.

"I made a mistake at the World Cup, I admitted it, but now it seems that referees are punishing me for it," Goal.com quotes him as saying. "I deserved a penalty against Koln but, of course, the referee did not give one."

Bayern Munich currently lead the Bundesliga table after six games.
