Preview: Blackpool vs. Bournemouth

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Championship encounter between beleaguered Blackpool and Bournemouth at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool will have another chance to end their miserable run of form when they host Bournemouth at Bloomfield Road this Saturday.

The Seasiders have suffered the worst run in the club's history this season, with a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Watford last weekend making it a whopping 17 matches without a win.

They have picked up a measly four points from a possible 48 in that time and now find themselves faced with the very real danger of dropping into the relegation zone.

Just eight points now separate them from the drop, although that position becomes even more precarious when you consider that every team in the bottom three has at least one game in hand over Barry Ferguson's side.

Their recent form has certainly warranted them being dragged into the mire, and if things don't improve sooner rather than later then they could well find themselves playing in League One next season.

Home victories over the likes of Reading, Watford and Wigan earlier this season are distant memories, and the Tangerines have now gone seven games without a win in front of their own fans, scoring just four goals in that time.

However, they will see this match as a good chance to finally turn things around and claim that elusive win, especially considering that they have beaten Bournemouth the last three times that they have faced them.

Ill discipline has been a recurring feature for Blackpool this season, and they will be without Jack Robinson once again as he continues to serve his suspension for his third red card of the campaign.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have floated comfortably around midtable for much of the season, struggling for consistency but picking up enough points to keep them clear of the drop.

They made headlines last week, however, when they thrashed Doncaster Rovers 5-0, with Yann Kermorgant hitting a hat-trick on his full debut for the club.

That ended a four-match winless streak for Eddie Howe's side, although with 12 points separating them from the relegation zone and 13 between them and the playoff places, they will now settle for an uneventful season.

Charlie Daniels and Elliot Ward could both miss out once again as they remain injury doubts, but Marc Pugh may come into the team.
