Marcos Alonso's goal on 20 minutes sees Bolton Wanderers head into the break 1-0 up against Brighton & Hove Albion at home.

Bolton Wanderers are leading Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 at the break in their Championship game at the Reebok Stadium.

Tomasz Kuszczak was called into action as early as the seventh minute when he was forced to deny David Ngog's effort.

Two minutes later Ashley Barnes headed wide, before Andy Lonergan turned away Andrew Crofts's shot for a corner.

Lonergan stood strong between the Bolton goal again on 20 minutes, this time foiling Barnes.

A minute later the home side surged ahead, as Marcos Alonso fired home from outside the area into the bottom-right corner of the Brighton goal.

Chris Eagles could have doubled Bolton's advantage just two minutes later, but Kuszczak made a good save.
