Fabrice Muamba has told Bolton Wanderers' team doctor that he is feeling "fine".
The 23-year-old is currently in a serious condition at the London Chest Hospital, having suffered a cardiac arrest during a match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night.
The midfielder has made progress since arriving at the medical facility in Bethnal Green, the latest of which was revealed by Dr Jonathan Tobin, who visited Muamba yesterday evening.
"I'm glad to say that the early signs of recovery have continued. I went to see Fabrice last night. I went in and he said 'Hi, doc,'" said Tobin.
"I asked him how he was and he said 'fine'."
Wanderers confirmed earlier today that their derby match against Blackburn Rovers this Saturday will go ahead as planned.
