Bolton Wanderers defender Marcos Alonso is on the verge of a move to Serie A side Fiorentina, according to Sky Sports News.
The 22-year-old is out of contract at the Reebok Stadium and free to discuss terms with other clubs.
A number of Premier League sides, including Stoke City and newly promoted Hull City, have been linked with a move for the full back, though it seems as though Fiorentina are now favourites.
The Italians have held a long-term interest in the Spaniard and tried to sign him during the January transfer window.
However, it now seems that the deal is all but done as Fiorentina look to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Alonso joined Bolton from Real Madrid for £2.5m in 2010 and has made 46 appearances for the club.
