Kruse has scored five goals to start the new season and while he was happy with his performances, he knows there is more to come.
"I'm pleased with my return, but not all my matches have been great this season," he told Bundesliga.com.
"There is plenty of room for improvement."
Kruse started his career at Werder Bremen and has played for both St Pauli and Freiburg.
