Real Madrid defender Marcelo has denied claims that his indiscipline could cost Brazil at this summer's Olympic Games.
The 24-year-old, who is expected to start against Egypt on Thursday, has also claimed that he would 'give his life' to Brazil.
"I am a very joyous player on the pitch, a very happy one. Being in the national team makes me even happier," he told reporters.
"If I am a hot-headed guy? When a fight breaks out, only those who are on the pitch know what it is like. Many people say things, but that will not get me down. If it is necessary I will give my life to the national team."
Brazil are considered as one of the favourites to secure gold this summer.
