In-form David Marshall denies Brighton & Hove Albion

David Marshall made a string of impressive saves as Cardiff City held Brighton & Hove Albion to a 1-1 draw in the Championship this evening.

Marshall came to his side's rescue with a point-blank save to deny Kazenga LuaLua on 14 minutes.

The Scottish keeper was at it again shortly after when he readjusted his position to keep out an effort that took a deflection.

However, Marshall was unable to keep out Bruno's effort minutes later when the defender's deft finish looped over him.

The visitors were back in it two minutes later when Jones headed home a cross from Peter Whittingham to even things up.

After the restart, Anthony Pilkington was denied with a point-blank save by Brighton keeper David Stockdale after an error from Seagulls defender Gordon Greer left the Bluebirds man with a one-on-one.

Marshall was once again called into action shortly before the hour mark, with the Cardiff goalkeeper this time thwarting Gary Gardner's long-range effort.

The Scot, who was a reported target for Arsenal back in the summer transfer window, once more made an impressive save, this time to stop Chris O'Grady on 68 minutes.
