UEFA have revealed that Celtic will remain in the group stages of the Europa League, even if FC Sion are reinstated to the competition.
The Swiss side appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after being disqualified from the tournament for fielding ineligible players during their qualifying victory over the Hoops.
They are now waiting on the results of their appeal, but UEFA have conifrmed that Celtic's place in the competition is not under threat, regardless of the Court's decision.
Should Sion be reinstated to the Europa League, it would be as an additional team, rather than a direct replacement for the Scottish side.
Celtic currently sit bottom of Group I and face French outfit Stade Rennes on Thursday.
