Jose Mourinho reflects on "special" Champions League win

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reflects on his 2004 Champions League win with Porto ahead of his current side's visit to his former club.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has talked up his "special" Champions League win with Porto in 2004 ahead of the Blues' meeting with the Portuguese side this evening.

Mourinho's Porto side beat AS Monaco in the final 11 years ago to give the Portuguese coach the first of his two titles in Europe's premier competition. Ahead of the return to his homeland, the Blues boss reflected on the victory.

"It is the club where I won my first Champions League and I started my adventure," Mourinho told BT Sport. "It means a lot to me. [The 2004 Champions League won] is really special to me.

"We finished second in the Group phase and we go to the first knockout and we play Manchester United and we see ourselves in the quarter final. It is then we feel it is [possible to win].

"It was easy to leave [after winning the Champions League] because we did everything we could so it was our time to leave. They are a threat [to finish first in the group]. The Champions League brings extra feelings to the players."

Mourinho also lifted the title with Inter Milan in 2010 to complete a treble with the Italian side.
