How Chelsea could line up against Southampton

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League game between Southampton and Chelsea, Sports Mole looks at how the Blues could line up at St Mary's.

Chelsea make the trip to Southampton this weekend looking to build on their victories against Brighton & Hove Albion and Lille over the past week.

Frank Lampard has witnessed his side keep their first clean sheet since his appointment as manager, while also getting their first Champions League victory on the board for the season.

The Blues remain off the pace in the Premier League, however, with three points required at St Mary's to keep the club in the top six of the standings.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how Chelsea may line up for Sunday's encounter on the south coast.

Out: Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Achilles), Emerson Palmieri (thigh),
Doubtful: Antonio Rudiger (groin)

Having made an impact as a substitute in the last two fixtures, Callum Hudson-Odoi is pushing for a starting role on the left flank.

Providing that he switches to a back four, Lampard may reward the teenager for his recent contribution, with Kurt Zouma the player to drop out of the team.

Reece James is unlikely to start two matches in a week at this stage of his comeback from ankle surgery, meaning that Cesar Azpilicueta should get the nod at right-back.

N'Golo Kante is in line to partner Jorginho in the middle of the pitch having come through unscathed against Lille, while Mason Mount could move into a role in front of the defensive pair if Hudson-Odoi takes his place on the wing.

Tammy Abraham's goal in the Champions League is likely to keep both Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud on the substitutes' bench.
