Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran reveals his disappointment at the lack of impact he made during his loan spell at Swansea City last season.

Josh McEachran has claimed that he must play first-team football after a disappointing loan spell at Swansea City last season.

The 19-year-old failed to make an impact during his time in Wales after a loan move from Chelsea and the Blues midfielder has admitted that he was disappointed at the lack of appearances he made during Swansea's first Premier League campaign.

McEachran said: "Last season was a difficult time for me and I had to deal with a lot of frustration at Swansea.

"The whole reason I went there was to gain more experience of the Premier League but it didn't work out that way.

"The team was playing well at the time and Brendan (Rodgers) didn't want to change his side. If they had been struggling then I might have got more games, but that wasn't what happened."

McEachran missed out on FA Cup and Champions League triumphs during his time away from Stamford Bridge.
