Chelsea captain John Terry has been full of praise for his teammate Frank Lampard following the midfielder's decision to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The 35-year-old confirmed on Monday that his 13-year association with the West London outfit has come to an end after his contract expired.
The England international, who will feature in this month's World Cup in Brazil, has been linked with a move to new MLS franchise New York City.
After Lampard announced the news, Terry said via social media app Fanzai: "Lamps, I'm going to miss you on and off the pitch mate.
"The best midfielder I've had the honour of playing with, you're a true Chelsea legend. You are a real winner and an inspiration to me and everyone at Chelsea. Good luck mate."
Terry extended his stay at Chelsea by signing a new one-year deal last month.
