Former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is reportedly facing the prospect of being forced to leave the United Kingdom before the end of the year.

Former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel may reportedly have to leave the United Kingdom later this year.

Tuchel has lived in England since replacing Frank Lampard as Blues boss in January 2021, but his period at Stamford Bridge came to an end earlier this month.

During his press conferences while employed by the Premier League club, the 49-year-old often spoke about enjoying living in London and the surrounding areas.

Since his departure, the German has stayed put while he contemplates his future, both in terms of his next job and on a personal level.

However, Tuchel may only have a limited amount of time before he is forced to return to mainland Europe.

According to The Telegraph, Tuchel could be limited to 90 days in the United Kingdom should he remain unemployed for the foreseeable future.

Tuchel arrived in the country on a post-Brexit Governing Body Endorsement visa and it is unclear whether regulations will result in his departure from British shores.

A representative for Tuchel said: "We will act in accordance with UK rules and adapt all future plans. Final decisions are not made yet."

As it stands, it is unclear when further clarification will be provided, leaving Tuchel in a period of uncertainty ahead of the winter months.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain manager will inevitably be linked with a number of clubs as the season progresses.

Each of Bayern Munich and Juventus are viewed as potential destinations with Julian Nagelsmann and Massimiliano Allegri having endured indifferent starts to the season.

Unless one of those clubs make an approach, Tuchel may bide his time with the World Cup due to commence in November, halting the domestic action until the final week in December.
