John Terry's racism trial breaks for lunch following a morning in which Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole was called to give evidence.

Day three of John Terry's racism trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London has been adjourned for lunch.

The 31-year-old stands accused of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a match at Loftus Road in October of last year - a charge which Terry has denied.

Proceedings begun with Chelsea captain Terry returning to the witness box where he was questioned by the prosecution.

After Terry had finished giving his evidence, his Chelsea and England teammate Ashley Cole was called to the stand.

Choosing to sit while he spoke, the full-back told the court that he did not hear his skipper use any racist language towards Ferdinand or any other player.

"I did not hear John Terry say a word," he said. "If I had I would have said something."

The trial is expected to resume at 2pm.
