Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle will return at 2pm to inform the court what further proceedings will take place in the John Terry racism case.

The Chief Magistrate in charge of John Terry's racism trial will decide at around 2pm this afternoon if the case is to continue.

The Chelsea skipper has spent the past two days at a court in Westminster, where he stands accused of racially Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a match last year.

Having now broken for lunch, Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle will return later today to inform the court what further proceedings will take place.

He could find the Chelsea skipper not guilty or opt to hear more from the defence.

He could also ask to hear more from the prosecution.

If found guilty, the maximum punishment that the centre-back can receive is a £2,500 fine.
