Goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has reportedly agreed to sign a two-year contract with Chelsea.
The Blues have been in the market for a third-choice stopper after veteran Willy Caballero departed on a free transfer last month.
Former Crystal Palace stopper Wayne Hennessey was believed to be a target for the West Londoners before he penned a deal with Burnley.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are now close to putting the finishing touches to an agreement with Bettinelli, previously of Fulham.
Having coming through the academy system at Craven Cottage, the 29-year-old went on to make 120 appearances in all competitions before being released at the end of June.
Bettinelli spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, featuring on 41 occasions in the Championship.
