Gary Cahill hints at Chelsea stay to play in Europa League

Defender Gary Cahill hints that he may be prepared to remain at Chelsea until the end of the season in order to try to win the Europa League for a second time.

Gary Cahill has indicated that he may be prepared to remain at Chelsea until the end of the season.

Cahill has previously suggested that he may look to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of his contract next summer due to a lack of playing time under Maurizio Sarri.

However, the centre-back featured against Videoton in the Europa League on Thursday night, and the Englishman has revealed that he holds a desire to win the competition for the second time.

The 32-year-old is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying: "We won the Europa League in 2013 and it was an amazing night, an amazing feeling. I take those memories and think to myself, 'I want to do that again'.

"This year, we are in the Europa League and we will try to win this. For me, it's just about getting out there playing as much as I can."

Cahill has featured for just 201 minutes in all competitions this season.
