Steve Holland denies Romelu Lukaku exit reports

Chelsea assistant first-team coach Steve Holland plays down suggestions that Romelu Lukaku will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea assistant first-team coach Steve Holland has hinted that Romelu Lukaku will not be allowed to depart the Blues this summer.

The Belgian international, who has spent the last two seasons on loan with West Bromwich Albion and Everton respectively, has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

However, Holland has played down rumours of a departure.

"The plan is that he will join up with us at some stage during the second [pre-season] week when we are in Holland," he told reporters.

Lukaku, who has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, scored 15 league goals for Everton last season.
