Manchester City reportedly join Chelsea and Barcelona in the race to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, amid links over a potential exit for Nathan Ake.

Manchester City have reportedly joined Chelsea and Barcelona in the race to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.

The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from the La Liga outfit this summer, and one report claims that he is 'desperate' to leave the club and play at a higher level amid interest in his services.

Kounde has been a long-term target of Chelsea, who are on the lookout to replace both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, while Barcelona are also keen to recruit the £55m-rated Frenchman.

However, The Telegraph, via the Manchester Evening News, claims that Man City are the latest club who have identified Kounde as a potential target.

The Citizens are expected to be recruit a new central defender this summer if they agree to sell Nathan Ake to Chelsea, who have allegedly agreed personal terms with the Dutchman.

Kounde, who has two years remaining on his contract, has been an influential player for Sevilla over the last three years, making 133 appearances across all competitions including 44 last season.

Man City are also understood to have identified RB Leipzig's 20-year-old defender Josko Gvardiol as a potential replacement for Ake.
