Report: Chelsea join race to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

A report claims that Manchester City face stern competition from rivals Chelsea to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next summer.

Chelsea will battle it out with Premier League rivals Manchester City to sign £65m-rated forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season, according to a report.

The Gabon international is said to be looking for a move to English football next summer and his current club are happy to now cash in to fund further transfers of their own.

Man City are expected to spend big next year in an attempt to become a real force in European football, with the 27-year-old understood to be one of three major targets for boss Pep Guardiola, along with Hector Bellerin and Leonardo Bonucci.

The Mirror claims that Chelsea are also interested in Aubameyang, who has netted 87 times in 152 appearances for Dortmund, although further competition for his signature will be provided by Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

City remain the favourites to land Aubameyang after last week's revelation that he held talks with the Citizens during the most recent transfer window.
