Crystal Palace and West Ham United are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing River Plate right-back Gonzalo Montiel when the transfer window reopens.
The Hammers were linked with a move for the 23-year-old during the January window and are understood to have made a €10m (£8.9m) bid for his services which was swiftly rejected by River Plate.
Argentinian outlet Ole now reports that Palace have joined their London rivals in the race for Montiel's signature as they look to provide more competition for Joel Ward at right-back.
The defender has a €20m (£17.7m) release clause in his contract at River Plate, and the Argentine outfit are not expected to consider bids of any less than that sum.
Palace and West Ham could face competition for Montiel's signature, though, with Inter Milan, Roma, Valencia and Real Betis among the other clubs reportedly interested in the Argentina international.
Montiel has made 20 appearances for River Plate this season, providing three assists.
