Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has said that he never feels scared on the pitch and just enjoys playing football.
The 20-year-old has started all but one of Everton's Premier League games this season, helping his club to fith place in the league, and the youngster told The Times that he wants the ball "all the time".
"I never feel fear," he said. "I don't feel like there's anyone watching. I feel like I'm just playing football. Through the years it's always felt exactly the same as when I played Sunday league.
"It doesn't affect me, fans shouting or anything. I just enjoy playing football and want the ball all the time. I'm the type of player that tries things. If you try things, not everything's going to come off.
"But Roberto Martinez doesn't mind if I make mistakes. Every footballer makes mistakes. He's said when I go out on the pitch to do what I've done on the training pitch. 'Don't be afraid to shoot. Don't be afraid to beat players. Enjoy it. Enjoy playing.'"
Everton take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon in a 4pm kickoff.
