Steven Naismith hails "vital win" for Everton

Everton forward Steven Naismith hails a "vital win" as they beat Queens Park Rangers 3-1 at Goodison Park.

Everton forward Steven Naismith hailed a "vital win" as they moved into the top half of the Premier League with a 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers this evening.

Naismith scored the final goal for the Toffees, after Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas has netted for Roberto Martinez's side.

Bobby Zamora struck a late consolation, but Naismith was delighted to get the points at Goodison Park.

"It's probably credit to us and what we've done over the last few years or so that teams come [to Goodison Park] and see us as a big threat," he told Sky Sports News. "And today we started off well and got the goals at the right time which helped us.

"I thought the keeper got a hand [to my goal] but I thought it was going in regardless and the main thing is it went in against a QPR side who are an experienced team who've found a bit of form.

"It gives us a vital win, I think going into the Europa League has given us problems with the amount of games but that's what we play for to take the club to the next level."

Everton continue their Premier League campaign when they travel to Southampton on Saturday.
