Everton have reportedly made inquiries about Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, with Tim Howard's future at the club in doubt.
Toffees manager Roberto Martinez is said to be impressed with Heaton's performances at Burnley last season, despite the club's relegation from the Premier League.
Heaton, who has two years left on his contract at Turf Moor, was in the reserves at Manchester United when Howard was the first-team keeper at United.
Howard's ex-wife has moved back to the US along with their two children, according to the Independent, and this may persuade the American to leave Merseyside.
The 36-year-old took a year out from international football last August to spend more time with his children.
